Recipe soft donuts
Ingredients:
For the donut dough:
- 500 grams of high-protein flour
- 75 grams of granulated sugar
- 11 grams of instant yeast (1 small sachet)
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 2 eggs
- 125 ml of warm milk
- 75 grams of margarine or butter, melted
- Oil for frying
For topping (optional):
- Powdered sugar
- Melted chocolate
- Grated cheese
- Jam or jelly
Instructions:
1. Initial Preparation:
- Mix the instant yeast and warm milk in a small bowl. Allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes or until it becomes frothy.
2. Making the Donut Dough:
- In a large bowl, combine the high-protein flour, granulated sugar, and salt.
- Add the eggs and the activated yeast mixture. Stir until well combined.
- Pour in the melted margarine into the dough and knead until the dough becomes elastic and non-sticky. You can use a mixer with a dough hook for this.
- Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rise for 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
3. Shaping and Frying the Donuts:
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out to a thickness of 1-1.5 cm and use a donut cutter or a glass with a diameter to cut out round donuts. You can also make mini donuts by cutting smaller circles.
- Place the cut donuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow the donuts to rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry the donuts in hot oil until both sides are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the donuts and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
4. Serving:
- Once the donuts are cool, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar, drizzle with melted chocolate, sprinkle grated cheese, or add jam or jelly according to your preference.
